We live in a pretty awesome city here in SF, and one of the things I love are the great parks and playgrounds here that my children enjoy safely. But I recently learned that the city is not going to include sand in new playground renovations. This is not acceptable to me - access to sand play in every neighborhood is essential for every child's development. Sandplay is a unique sensory experience that creates a vital foundation for creative and imaginative play as well as socioemotional regulation, from young toddlers to school-aged kids.
