Staying Engaged: SF Playgrounds Currently Prioritized for Renovation

Calling all sand and authentic play advocates!

To have our voices heard about the benefits of sand play and the importance of having access to sand play for children of ALL backgrounds regardless of neighborhood, it will be important for parents, teachers and other childhood play experts to provide their input to local planning meetings that SFRP hosts in the community around a specific playground.

According to SFRP's website, 13 playgrounds will be prioritized for improvements in the coming years. So far planning efforts have already begun for the following playgrounds:

(1) Alice Chalmers Playground (Community Meeting #2 is scheduled for tonight)

(4) Panhandle Playground (The playground that started this coalition of Save the Sand SF advocates)

Do stay tuned!
